Where there is a will, there is a win!
Who would have thought that even after having a significant count of votes, Congress shall be left out from making a majority and claiming the stake in the government formation of Meghalaya?
This is not the BJP, who has left all surprised by any clean sweep, but these are the local parties who have come up to join together and take advantage of the situation.
Although, the father P.A Sangma had been a congress representative during his active tenure, however, the legacy of Sangma does not want to be the line follower.
With support from other minority parties and BJP votes, Conrad Sangma has expressed the intentions towards a coalition of government formation in Meghalaya and has handover the letter of support from required 34 MLAs to Meghalaya Governor Ganga Prasad. The Governor of Meghalaya has welcomed the initiative and has decided to go ahead with the sworn-in formalities on 6th of March 2018.
Now the ball is again in the hands of BJP as the sweep of BJP candidates’ win in Seven sisters has already raised eyes bros of many political gurus. The interesting fact to be noted here would be a complete shift of NPP support from the Indian national congress party to self-domination in the state with the support from the party in Central government at the moment.
