On Monday evening, three armed men came on a motorcycle and stormed into a jewellery shop and made away with jewellery worth Rs. 5-6 lakhs. The incident happened in North Delhi’s Swaroop Nagar. According to DCP (north-west) Aslam Khan, the men had worn masks and carried pistols with them. The masked men also took away the digital video recorder of the CCTV camera installed at the shop. The CCTV camera of the neighbouring shop captured the vehicle’s registration number but later the vehicle was found out to be stolen from North Delhi’s Burari area. The men entered the shop at around 5 PM when there were only three employees. At the time of the incident the owner of the jewellery shop was absent. Artificial jewellery was on display while the gold jewellery was kept in a safe place. The robbers had forced the employees to lie down and took away gold items only.
